GIRLS GIRLS GIRLS

I've got a group show this Friday -- anyone in NYC definitely try to make it out, lots of other great female artists showing alongside me:

I'll be showing some new work from Lapis Girls, should be good:

See ya there!

C.R.E.A.M.

Hey kids, I've finally joined the party...

Follow me on Instagram! Can't promise where I'll lead ya.

THOU SHALT NOT.

I finally scanned a little 8x10 series I did a long time ago.
It's called 'Commandments', and it's pretty self-explanatory.

----

These were fun to do...you can see all 10 of them in detail HERE.

ARTIFACT OR FICTION: GROUP SHOW (continued)

----

The opening was great, thanks to everyone who came out!

I'll have more photos soon of some of my work I made for the show. All the work (myself, Paul RichardChris Uphues, and Clint Van Gemert is still up for another week or two, so swing by if you're in Brooklyn!

----

FREUD-ZINE + NYLON

Two things you should pick up today:

Did a portrait of Brian McGreevy (he created "Hemlock Grove") for the newest issue of Nylon Guys. Try to ignore the guy on the cover and just look for the McGreevy article....

---

In other news, NEW ZINE in the shop, it's about Freud. You should read it.

Get it here! Go.

ARTIFACT OR FICTION: A GROUP SHOW

You're invited:

See ya...

3.14.2013

1, 2, 3.

Lots of stuff happening, 2 zines I contributed to are premiering this week...
-----

SAD GIRLS:

From the always-genius mind of Leah Goren, the second issue of Sad Girls.

The theme for this issue was plants, and I did some mycology-inspired girls (technically fungi, but who cares). There are some really amazing contributors involved in this zine, definitely go buy it ASAP before it's sold out!

--------

Making It:

A new zine curated by Aria McManus, with a really diverse group of contributors from all mediums and backgrounds. The first ever issue launches at Printed Matter in NYC on March 22nd, 6-8pm, or buy it online here. Limited edition of 250 copies, so grab it fast.

(My contribution is top secret until you buy it--but I'll give you a hint: it involves a creepy priest.)

--------

SOI:

Lastly, I'm excited to say I've got a piece in the Society of Illustrators Student Scholarship Competition again, this time for 2013:

This is from a series of 10 "Commandments" drawings that I did for a Parsons class. I'll put the rest of the series up soon, but "To Covet" is apparently the most popular sin. At SOI, anyway...

More to come, soon!

More to come. Patches and prints. Stay tuned.

LE DESCHAIN.

-----

A while ago, my friend and designer at Deschain asked me to collaborate on some garments for spring:

I hand-painted on fabric with some great saturated inks, and they turned out really beautifully.

-----

These garments debuted in the last collection, and now you can buy them

Have a look:

SOI 55

-------

Pleased to announce that two of my (favorite) pieces from the Night Religion series were selected for Illustrators 55, the annual exhibition at the Museum of American Illustration. Both were chosen for the uncommissioned category (Part one of the two-part show) and they are currently hanging at Society of Illustrators until the 26th.

I haven't yet made it up to see the show, but be sure to go before the end of the month if you're in NYC-- lots of great illustrators and beautiful work by my contemporaries...
Plus, my pieces are framed really nicely and look pretty.

RESPLENDENCE/CONSUMPTION

----

New zine in the shop. Not really new at all, but new for you to buy....

Get one while ya can.
